The Vision

The Cafe

Our menu is rooted in New England and inspired by European bistros — seasonal cooking made in house with local ingredients. In the warmer months, the kitchen packs picnic hampers for members who want to spend the afternoon on the grounds. In winter, it sends out hot apple cider and hot chocolate to the outdoor fireplace where members gather under warm blankets.

On select afternoons, we serve a formal British-style afternoon tea — prepared with the same care and technical precision you would find at a fine London hotel. Our kitchen also bakes birthday cakes for the celebrations you bring to us.

In time, our café will also serve as the setting for our quarterly Dinner Club — a seasonal ritual of carefully prepared menus, wine by the fire, and the particular pleasure of a long, unhurried table.

The Vision

The Living Rooms

No matter which living room you find yourself in, you feel at home. Cushy chairs, warm lighting, fresh flowers, and always somewhere to set your cup down. Several rooms give members a choice of atmosphere — a livelier room for conversation and connection, a quieter one for reading or working, and a more private space for intimate gatherings or small dinner parties. Each room is designed to feel like a natural extension of your own home. There is always the faint scent of something good coming from the kitchen.

The Vision

The Grounds

The grounds change with the seasons. Beyond the house, a barn serves as the setting for our larger events — holiday parties, seasonal celebrations, children’s days, and private occasions including small weddings.

Spring & Summer

The gardens are in bloom — wildflowers and manicured paths, Adirondack chairs scattered across the lawn, tables shaded by umbrellas.

Autumn

The outdoor fireplace is lit. The air turns crisp and the grounds take on a quieter, more golden quality.

Winter

The property becomes a place for snowshoeing, sledding, and skating — depending on what the land allows.

The Vision

The Event Calendar

Our event calendar runs year-round — intimate dinners, seasonal celebrations, morning workshops, and holiday gatherings. Members receive priority access to all of them.

Dinner Club

A quarterly ritual. A long table, beautifully set. An aperitif to start, a chef-led dinner, and dessert to finish.

Seasonal Celebrations

Garden parties, cocktail evenings, harvest suppers, holiday gatherings — always tied to the season.

Workshops & Experiences

Flower arranging, wreath making, and other hands-on mornings led by experts from our Little Black Book.

Private Celebrations

Birthdays, milestones, and intimate weddings. The barn, the grounds, and the kitchen are yours.

The Vision

Children at Merrymere

Children are welcome at Merrymere on select days and at dedicated events. We are one of the few private clubs that genuinely programs for children — not as an afterthought, but as part of what we are.

Because some of our best members are still growing up.

Merrymere is a private club — built around beautiful food, unhurried afternoons, and the belief that celebration belongs in the everyday.
